Four days of Opel on the meadow that otherwise holds the horse market. The 11th meeting of Opelfreunde Havelberg runs from 15 to 18 July 2027. Arrival from Thursday morning, pay at the gate, power and water included.

When you arrive

The ground sits on Elbstraße in 39539 Havelberg, on the festival field in the Mühlenholz. From Thursday 8 am you can drive on. You do not need to book tickets first. You pay at the entrance.

Driver 35 euros plus a rubbish deposit. Water and power sit in that price.
Caravan or trailer 5 euros extra.
Passengers from age 8: 5 euros.
The evening till for the party area is 5 euros if you only come to dance.

What runs on the field

Show and Shine with Top 30, Top 10 classics, Girli, non-Opel and further cups. Plus a decibel test for woofers and exhaust. Children’s disco, bouncy castles, face painting, bumper cars and a children’s carousel. From 8 pm a party area with DJs. Pool party with a cocktail bar, club games, light show.

By day car stands next to car between the poplars. At night the same ground becomes a city of lights.

Opel on the market, long before the meadow filled

In 1936 Opels already stood in the middle of town, on the market square. Blitz flags, price boards in Reichsmark, a van lettered Opel Karawane. It is a brand show, not a club meeting like today.

I S was not a town code then. In the German Reich the letter I stood for Prussia and the second letter for a Prussian province. I S meant Hanover, I A Berlin, I C East Prussia, I E Brandenburg. Historic number plates on Wikipedia. A privately registered car in Havelberg would have carried I E. The vehicles on the square do not (yet) belong to people in Havelberg, but to the travelling sales fleet. Hanover had been the central Opel works since 1929. Together with the lettering Opel Karawane and the prices in front of the grilles, that looks like demonstration cars: look, order, register locally later.

Today’s meeting of Opelfreunde Havelberg e.V. stands on the festival ground. 2024 was the eighth edition, 2025 the ninth with more than 460 cars already at the start of the weekend, 2026 the tenth meeting with around 870 Opels. 2027 follows as the eleventh. Dates after that the club has already named: 2028 from 3 to 6 August, 2029 from 2 to 5 August, 2030 from 1 to 4 August.
